Upstream Technologies is committed to
the design and distribution of products
that return our watershed environments
to a natural state
Founded in 2011, Upstream Technologies goal is to help reduce the costs of managing stormwater,
and we continue to develop products and services to achieve this goal.
The SAFL Baffle was first introduced in 2011, and it is a pretreatment system to lower costs for
managing total suspended solids (TSS) in stormwater systems.
The SAFL Baffle was developed and verified by 4 years of research at the University of Minnesota.
In 2018, the MPD Infiltrometer was officially introduced. The MPD is a metrology instrument that provides
an automated and inexpensive test for saturated
hydraulic conductivity (Ksat) and soil capillary pressure. It allows engineers to accurately size
and design infiltration basins and rain gardens. It also allows project inspectors and public works
employees to verify proper construction of these practices and provide on-going test data for bi-annual
inspections to verify maintenance requirements.
