Have a specific TSS/sediment removal goal? Use SHSAM software to design TSS efficiencies
and compare different products. This software tool was created by a 3rd party and will allow you to compare
the SAFL baffle with other products, such as Hydrodynamic Separators.
The bottom of the SAFL Baffle needs to be at an elevation one foot below the invert of the outlet pipe
The top of the SAFL Baffle should be roughly 2-6 inches above the top of the inlet pipe.
Use a 27? casting for the manhole. If not possible, contact us for some options
Make sure that your vacuum truck’s hose can enter your casting and not run into the SAFL Baffle. Move the casting to one side of the manhole slab, or move the SAFL Baffle upstream or downstream a few inches (it’s adjustable).
MnDOT Reports the SAFL Baffle has saved Minnesota Tax Payers more than $8 million dollars in the last 3 years and
expects to save another $26 million over the next 10 years.
